UVic 2011 United Way campaign

The UVic 2011 United Way campaign is now concluded.

As one of the largest supporters of the United Way of Greater Victoria, UVic has pledged to fund critical services that support our community. Since 2005, the UVic campus community has raised over $1.8 million (and counting!) for the United Way of Greater Victoria.

Our fundraising target for the UVic 2011 United Way campaign was $290,000, our most ambitious goal ever. Last year your generosity helped us surpass our campaign goal of $280,000 and raise a total of $302,328.

Change starts here

One person in three is helped by a United Way funded agency or program in Victoria. The generosity of campus community members—staff, students, faculty and retirees—will help change the future for those whose challenges are too great to face alone, meaning an isolated senior will feel less lonely; another child will have a safe place to play; hope can be delivered to mothers at risk; and the fight against poverty and overwhelming health issues can continue.

The United Way of Greater Victoria is touching lives by funding real solutions to real challenges. Some of the local programs we fund help provide people with the resources they need to move out of poverty. Others help individuals to stay healthy and build strong community connections. We are also funding programs that help children to grow up strong and happy.
